Rank is to close nine of its Mecca Bingo clubs with the loss of 230 jobs. The closures have been prompted by the smoking ban in England and Wales, which will come into force in July this year.

The cuts will be in Fulham, Islington, Kingston-upon-Hull, Liverpool, Reading, Sheffield, Swansea, Welling and Wolverhampton. Rank will then be left with 103 bingo clubs, making it the country's second-largest bingo operator.

Several bingo clubs were forced to close in Scotland after the smoking ban was introduced there. Pubs have been able to set aside outside areas where people can smoke, but this is not possible with a bingo hall because players cannot use the electronic terminals outside the hall.

While conceding that smoking is a dirty and harmful habit I believe it should be totally at the discretion of the owner of a venue to permit or ban smoking on his or her own premises, it should not be a matter for State intervention and the heavy handed dishing out of penalty notices. Clientele of bars, pubs and clubs would then have a choice of patronising those establishments which fit in with their own personal lifestyle. However there is no place for such commonsense personal choice in Nanny State Britain where the government seeks to coerce, bully and threaten its citizens.

Councils are already struggling to provide decent levels of service in conventional fields of operation, now they have to find funds for council employees to patrol licensed premises on their patch to catch and hand our penalty notices to someone who lights up.

As is typical of the hypocritical politicians of Britain’s Old Gang parties who believe they know what is best, there are establishments offering food and drink to their clients which will be exempt from the new smoking ban - the bars of the Houses of Parliament. So while your fat cat MP or a BBC political correspondent can chomp away on his cigar in Annie’s Bar the “ordinary” taxpaying smoker will be forced to stand aside in the wind and rain.

Anyway, all those Bingo Halls will make nice mosques when they go up for sale. Just like the 'Super Mosque' (Islamic Village) that's going to be built in Dudley, even after massive protests and lobbying against it. Still comforting to know, you can't have a fag whilst out at Bingo, but you can visit your local mosque, plan Jihad, condone Child Sex and plot your next catastrophe. I'm fed up saying wake up Britain because you are all comatosed.

From BBC: A teenager is recovering in hospital after being shot in the back during an attack in the street.
The 18-year-old was injured on Friday night, in the Moss Side area of Manchester.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, police said, although the bullet may be lodged in his body.

The incident, in Raby Street, took place close to where 15-year-old Jessie James was shot dead in September last year. His killer has not been found.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said the shooting on Friday took place at about 2100 GMT. End

So, why are people complaining about Gun crime? I don't understand it. The majority of people agree with a multicultural society, so you have to accept all the cultural beliefs / practices that come with it. You can't have your cake and eat it as to coin a phrase.

A devastating report from the London School of Economics has revealed the true costs of immigration into the UK and how it impacts on council tax payers. The report entitled ‘Population Mobility and Service Provision’ is a damning indictment of the present lunatic immigration system.

The report states that immigrants are costing council tax payers at least £200 million a year. Costs for personal translators for immigrants are costing council tax payers at least a £1,000 per year per immigrant. In London with an estimated official growth of 100,000 immigrants per year this equates to costs of tens of millions per year out of council taxes just to teach them how to speak English.

Council tax payers are also paying millions of pounds per year in ’destitution payments’ to illegal immigrants who have just arrived in the country and who are unable to claim benefits because of government rules that require them to follow the legal asylum process.

The report details that schooling for the indigenous children of the UK is suffering and impacting adversely on the education of British children, that unbearable strain is being put on the housing and health systems, that social cohesion is being damaged by the influx of immigrants into the UK, that the council housing systems are in total crisis and that council taxes will have to rise vastly in coming years to cover the costs of the immigration crisis.

The report also reveals that in ten London boroughs, over a third of the population were born overseas with Brent a staggering 46.6%.

This report is the smoking gun on immigration, and because it comes from the LSE which is well known as being a liberal-left institution means the report and its conclusions cannot be smeared as somehow ’racist’ or having an ’agenda’.

The report is based on official government figures as regards the estimates of numbers of immigrants entering the UK. As we all know the Labour government lies out of its back teeth about the real figures of immigrants entering the country. When the Labour government said only 30,000 Eastern European immigrants would enter the country the real figure they later revealed as nearer 300,000. Only last week the Polish Prime Minister revealed that the actual figure of Polish citizens alone who have entered the country in the last two years is nearer 600,000.

The actual numbers of immigrants in this report does not include the estimated 2-3 million illegal immigrants also in the country.

This report is a watershed moment for the UK and a wake up call to all British people.

The British people must sit up and take notice and stop believing the lies peddled to them by the media and the government or else within a generation we will become strangers in our land.

The Minister for Northern Ireland, Peter Hain was born to South African parents who were anti-apartheid activists in the South African Liberal Party, for which they were made "banned persons", briefly jailed, and prevented from working. Friends of the Hain family formed a small resistance group, the Armed Resistance Movement.

The Armed Resistance Movement (ARM) was an terrorist group whose members were mainly white, and friends of Peter Hain's family were involved.

ARM came into being at the time of the arrest of the major ANC leadership. It succeeded in several bombing operations. However, a bombing in Johannesburg station in July 1964 led to the death of an elderly woman.

One of the ARM's operatives (John Harris, a school teacher) was subsequently arrested, convicted, sentenced to death, and executed.

Harris was a friend of Peter Hain's family, and Harris' wife, Ann, and their young son, David, went to live with the Hains in the run-up to the trial. The 15-year-old Peter Hain delivered the eulogy at the service for Harris after his execution by the South African government for planting the bombs that killed and wounded people in the blast.

Conviction for Hain

In 1966 the Hain family fled South Africa and settled in London. Peter became chairman of the Stop the Seventy Tour Campaign which disrupted tours by the South African rugby union teams in 1969 and 1970. A 1972 private prosecution brought by Francis Bennion in regard to his leadership of the illegal direct-action interference with the tours resulted in a ten-day Old Bailey Trial with the jury failing to agree on three charges and hence he was acquitted on those charges, but Peter Hain was found guilty of criminal conspiracy and fined £200. He appealed against the conviction in 1973. The Court of Appeal dismissed his appeal with costs.

As reported in the Daily Telegraph of 23 October 1973, the court said his conviction was "fully justified". Lord Justice Roskill said Hain had not elected to give evidence, adding that "He gave no explanation of his part over the incidents with which he was charged." In 1976 Hain was tried for, and acquitted of, a 1974 bank robbery, after allegedly having been framed by South African intelligence agents.

Deaths of thousands

Under Tony Blair the Labour Party themselves are also involved in the deaths of tens of thousands of people in Iraq and Serbia. The Conservatives also lobbied for the illegal war in Iraq and voted for it in Parliament making them complicit in the crimes of the Labour government.

The Labour Party are also involved in rewarding former terrorists in the IRA like Martin McGuiness and Gerry Adams with Cabinet Minster posts in the Northern Ireland Assembly and also freeing the terrorists responsible for the worst atrocities in the conflict and rewarding them with jobs on the Policing Boards.

As for the media, should they choose to cover this story in the usual simplistic and emotive manner, perhaps they should bear in mind the case of 44-year-old James Raven. In August 2004 at Chester Crown court Raven was sentenced to life imprisonment for torturing and murdering Brian Waters. In his summing up Justice Poole told Raven: "These crimes were exceptionally sadistic. The violence used was both gratuitous and extreme and was characterised by the humiliation and degradation of Brian Waters before he died. This was a very serious case."

James Raven worked as a journalist for the BBC and Channel Four.

Yellow bellied Britons face a future of dhimmitude if the example of one of the most historic and revered educational establishments is to be followed.

Clare College is the second oldest of Cambridge’s thirty-one colleges being founded in 1326, and generously endowed a few years later by Lady Elizabeth de Clare, a granddaughter of the fierce warrior king - Edward I.

A 19 year old student of the college has been moved to a safe house after causing “widespread distress” by printing a cropped copy of the cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad and offensive comments in last week’s edition of Clareification, a student flysheet distributed within the college.

Clareification, a satirical weekly, first came to the university’s attention on Tuesday, after complaints by Muslims and non-Muslims about the back page, which, under the title “lookalikes of the week”, featured a cartoon of Muhammad next to a picture of the president of the Union of Clare Students. Apparently the caption for Muhammad bore the president’s name and vice-versa. A further comment was added, indicating that one was a “violent paedophile” and the other “a prophet of God, a great leader and example to us all”. A separate article likened the reaction to the original cartoons with the outrage at last year’s speech by the Pope at Regensburg.
Patricia Fara, Clare College’s senior tutor, apologised yesterday. She said: “The college finds the publication and the views expressed abhorrent. Reflecting the gravity of the situation, the college immediately began an investigation and disciplinary procedures are in train.”

The Union of Clare Students also apologised, saying that the material did not reflect the views of Clare students.

The unnamed 19 year old maths and physics student now faces been expelled from the college, an uncertain career path and was moved to a safe house following threats of violence.

Clare College should apologise to the British population for not having a sense of humour and for appeasing a handful of pushy Muslims who are conducting jihad at Cambridge University. Their actions would be an affront to their benefactor whose family played a key role in the 13th and 14th century Crusades.

Word of the week – dhimmitude - Dhimmitude is the status that Islamic law, the Sharia, mandates for non-Muslims, primarily Jews and Christians. Dhimmis, "protected people," are free to practice their religion in a Sharia regime, but are made subject to a number of humiliating regulations designed to enforce the Qur'an's command that they "feel themselves subdued" (Sura 9:29). This denial of equality of rights and dignity remains part of the Sharia, and, as such, is part of the law that global jihadists are labouring to impose everywhere, ultimately on the entire human race.

An excellent debunking of Political Correctness appeared in yesterday’s online American Daily. Although written by James Moore for an American readership the report has equal relevance and impact for a British audience. It should some hope to the millions of Britons who are daily the victims of this pernicious abuse of power by an out of touch elite.

Where did this strange animal Political Correctness (PC) come from? Never in our history have we had to be afraid of what we say, write, and do.

We must not bow to that fear. Since PC tries to restrict our freedom of expression—-particularly any form of dissent--it is imperative that we learn everything we can about it: more, for example, than it is simply a rebuke to various forms of bigotry.

In an address to academia in 1998, writer Bill Lind dissected PC from top to bottom. What Lind said is so vital, I will try, with implicit permission, to give you a capsule version of the five points he made.

First, political correctness is cultural Marxism. Although it’s everywhere, this socialistic idea is most evident on college campuses, where crossing the line set up by sainted “victims” groups gets you in deep trouble.

PC also thrives on lies. Let’s say you’re told that a certain fact is true. But reality contradicts that. So reality is forbidden, to make the lie seem true. And the power of the State is used to keep the lie alive. That’s why political correctness creates a totalitarian state.

Second, PC, like Marxism, uses a single factor to explain history. Marx uses economics. PC uses power. The power is determined by which groups have power over the other groups. With political correctness, nothing but power has any significant meaning.

Third, with PC, certain groups are deemed to be “good”. These groups, such as feminist women, blacks, Hispanics, homosexuals, etc, are considered “victims”, therefore “good”-- whether they are or not. White males, of course, are the bad guys. Their “evilness” is equivalent to the wicked bourgeoisie in economic Marxism.

Fourth, both PC and Marxism take from one to give to another; (or keep for themselves. You can clearly see this at work in quotas, preferences, affirmative action, and other illegal transfers of assets from one group of citizens to another. The nice word for it is expropriation. The more accurate word is stealing.

Fifth, both political correctness and Marxism have a method of analyzing situations which automatically gives them the answers they want. This devious little process is called Deconstruction. Which simply means taking one text, removing its meaning, and re-inserting any other meaning desired.

Newspeak

George Orwell did an outstanding job of this in his chilling novel, 1984. “Newspeak” gave opposite meanings to common words: War became Peace, Slavery became Freedom, Ignorance became Strength.

Orwell had unknowingly described political correctness when he defined the principle of Newspeak: “The purpose of Newspeak was not only to provide a medium of expression for the world-view and mental habits proper to the devotees of INGSOC (English Socialism), but to make all other modes of thought impossible.”

Get that? Make all other modes of thought impossible! That bit of tyranny appears to be the objective of today’s PC crowd in Washington. And if that’s true, it’s the worst form of treason because it undermines the most sacred bastion of freedom we have: Freedom of Thought.

In the last few weeks, the country (and the rest of the world it seems) woke up to a storm of manufactured controversy when racially-charged comments from an individual who was appearing on Channel 4’s popular “reality” TV show Big Brother were reported upon by the mass media.

Those of us who are have cast away the shackles of plastic entertainment and misinformation masquerading as “news” will have undoubtedly heard the shock waves that rippled from the epicentre of the Big Brother household across the media. This “news”, artificially primed and pumped by the media tycoons and barons who have incestuous relationships with the Nu-Labour, hit the British public and reverberated around the world. The centre of this seismic media phenomenon was Jade Goody, a product of the plastic celebrity culture – created in an earlier Big Brother reality TV show and spectacularly destroyed in the latest incarnation: Death by media.
Jade Goody is a product of modern liberal Britain and an education system that is fitting for churning out mass-produced morons. Unfortunately, this is precisely what we are now experiencing in the schools and on the streets of Britain.

As the unelected Commissioners in the EU set ever more rules and regulations down to the minutest detail which affect the lives of millions of consumers, traders and public bodies overseas based businesses exporting to the European Union (EU) have been warned that displaying both metric and imperial measures on products is set to become illegal.

Suppliers from the USA, Australia and Asia have until January 1, 2010 to change their packaging, catalogues and anything else so that it displays only metric measures if they want to sell their goods in the EU including the UK. Our own Trade watchdogs will no longer have say in the goods imported from our trading partners as Brussels sets the rules.

The warning comes from the British Weights and Measures Association (BWMA) which said it was concerned that many international businesses were unaware of what was happening.

"Asian and Australasian businesses need to know that the display of US, British imperial and industry-specific measurements alongside metric could be illegal in the European Union in less than three years' time," BWMA said in a statement.

The European Commission (EC) is currently seeking business views with submissions closing in three weeks.

Currently, businesses operating in the European Union can use US or imperial measures alongside metric measures for all economic purposes. That includes product packaging, websites and catalogues.

Illegal information

But under an unnecessary EC Directive, “extra measurement information” will become illegal within the EU from the start of 2010.
BWMA director John Gardner said a ban on US and British units affected not only UK and US businesses but those from all other parts of the world.

He said the ban would apply to all products, packaging, advertisements, instructions, brochures, magazines, books, e-commerce, internet sites, internal business processes and catalogues and no-one would be exempt.

"If the ban on US and other measurements alongside metric goes ahead, Asian and Australasian industry will be forced to duplicate manufacturing processes when selling goods both in Europe and internationally, since they will no longer be able to use one process for both metric and non-metric markets," he said in a statement. Should the international trade market boycot Europe? I think so, theEU should be on an international trade ban.

Just to add, the EU has managed to ban smoking in public areas in France, now they wish to pilot a scheme which bans the use of mobile phones in public. So, this really does make it pointless owning a mobile phone. The best laws are to come yet, I'll save that for another post sometime this week once I've gathered confirmation from the rats nest the EU have made of their web sites.

One has to really think, did the Nazis win the war with politics?

Two World Wars have already been achieved, and the Third and final World War envisions an attack on Iraq, Iran and/or Syria as being the trigger to set the entire Middle East into fiery conflagration.

Once America is firmly entrenched into the Middle East with the majority of her first-line units, North Korea is to attack South Korea. Then, with America's forces stretched well beyond the limit, China is to invade Taiwan. This will usher in the start of World War Three.
